🦪 Upcoming Clam Digs

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife has announced tentative razor clam digging opportunities on the following dates:

  • March 8, Saturday: Digging from noon to midnight at Long Beach, Twin Harbors, and Mocrocks. Low tide at 2:13 p.m. (0.6 feet).

  • March 9, Sunday: Digging from noon to midnight at Long Beach, Twin Harbors, and Copalis. Low tide at 4:18 p.m. (0.4 feet).

Remember to check the WDFW website for the latest updates and to ensure digs are approved before heading out. *the best digging is about 2 hours prior to low tide.

🎣 Fishing Derby Update

The Westport Charterboat Association's annual Fishing Derby kicks off on March 9! This season, over $60,000 in prizes are up for grabs, including:

  • $10,000 Grand Prize for the largest Chinook (King) salmon of the season.

  • $1,500 for the largest Coho salmon.

  • $1,000 for the largest Halibut.

  • $1,500 for the largest Ling Cod.

Daily and weekly prizes are also available. For more details, visit the Westport Charterboat Association.

  • March 8-9: Spring Fling Vendor Market (Kila Hana Kamperland) – A weekend market featuring local vendors.

  • March 9 - October 19: Westport Charterboat Association Fishing Derby. Compete for daily and weekly cash prizes in the Sportfishing Capital of the World. For information, call 360-580-6610.

  • March 18 - June 1: Gray Whale Watching. Boat excursions to view migrating California Gray Whales. Boats depart from the Westport Marina. Call 1-800-562-0105 or 360-268-1000 for reservations.
